- Why did you join TFO Phoenix?
I joined TFO Phoenix because their values and goals are in line with mine. I can’t say enough good things about the team here and the culture they have created. Truly, the cream of the crop.
- What most excites you about your work?
I get excited at work when I can collaborate and problem solve with clients. Let’s face it, taxes and accounting are pretty much a necessary evil. I get excited a when clients trust me with more than just tax compliance questions.
- Why should families connect wealth and purpose?
When I was a growing up, we would always ask my father what he wanted for Christmas or for his birthday. Without hesitation, his answer would be, “happy kids.” Wealthy or poor, I suppose this is the wish of any loving parent. I believe wealth can be a blessing or a burden. It can tear a family apart, or it can bring a family closer together. I believe when a family’s wealth is connected to their purpose it can lead to better communication, less drama, more joy, longer legacies, and in essence… happier kids.
- Education and accreditations
Bachelors of Sciences in Accounting – Arizona State University
Masters of Taxation – Arizona State University
Arizona CPA License
- What do you like to do outside of work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
I love yard work. Mowing my lawn is a religious experience for me. Working in an office all day, I enjoy any chance I get to work with my hands. I also grew up playing sports. I’m always up for a good pick-up game of basketball or softball tournament. Date night with my wife (no kids) at a good restaurant is also a favorite pass-time.
- What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?
I subscribe to the ideology that there are people you like, and there are people you just don’t know yet. This has encouraged me to give people the benefit of the doubt and not be quick to judge.
