Mason Longstreth, CFP®, CPA/PFS

Director of Tax | Partner

  • Why did you join TFO Phoenix?

I wanted to be part of a team that I knew had a great combination of skills, integrity and shared vision to build a world-class wealth management firm.

  • What most excites you about your work?

Every day holds something new: From building an estate plan with a family, to helping another one create a financial plan to realize their visions, to modeling the tax implication of the sale of a closely-held business to helping teach the next generation of a family financial literacy.

  • What has been your most rewarding career experience?

When a family came to us feeling stressed and overwhelmed because they didn’t feel like they had a plan for their wealth. Creating a plan to give them direction and move toward achieving their goals is like seeing a weight being lifted off their shoulders; helping to lift that weight has been my most rewarding career experience.

  • What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

Having children may not be a “personal accomplishment” but when I think of things that I am most proud of, my kids are number one.

  • Education and accreditations

  • What do you like to do outside of work?

Spending time with my family, working on my hobby farm and spending time outdoors.

  • What are some of your biggest influences?

My dad gave me my moral compass, my mom taught me patience, my wife keeps me going and my kids give me focus.

  • What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

If you ever drop your keys in a river of molten lava, let ‘em go; because, man, they’re gone.
