- What path led you to wealth management?
I’ve always been an analytical person; I know I get that from my dad. Before the days of personal finance software my dad actually used to write down on ledger paper every penny they spent. My job was to then enter that information into a spreadsheet and categorize each item. My parents instilled in me at a young age the value of a dollar and how important it is to budget and track your finances.
- What has been your most rewarding career experience?
I really enjoy helping clients understand the different aspects of their wealth and helping them build a plan for the future. Often times I see clients are overly-focused on the dollar amount in their account and not thinking about how they’d like to use that wealth. They are usually in a good financial position and they don’t know it. I love it when I can tell them to take a vacation!
- What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
I grew up in San Diego, but a month after graduating from college I moved to Phoenix without knowing a person here and without knowing where I was going to work. Anyone who knows me will attest that I am not a spontaneous person, so this was definitely far outside of my comfort zone. Looking back, I’m really happy I took the risk because I can’t imagine my life any different.

- What do you like to do outside of work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
My favorite way to spend a weekend is simple, relaxing at home with my husband, two young boys and our French bulldog Griffey. I think the best weekends are the ones where we have nothing planned. Instead of rushing from one event to another we get to take a breath, unwind and see where the weekend takes us. The only exception is Sundays during football season – those days are reserved for being at home in our PJs, glued to the TV watching every NFL game. I’m a fantasy football fanatic, and I also am a diehard San Diego Chargers fan.
- What are some of your biggest influences?
When I was eight, my family moved from San Diego to Bangkok, Thailand. At first it was such a shock to me: The faces, the food, and the smells were all so different. My narrow view of “normal” life was blown open and my world became so much bigger almost overnight. Over time, I learned to love and appreciate everything about Thailand. That experience made me a more open-minded, accepting and adventurous person.
- What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?
As Maya Angelou said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
